If a headline or summary on Dumpster Fire doesn’t match the original reporting, or a source updates or retracts a story, we correct or remove our version promptly.

How to report an error

Use our contact form and choose “Correction.” Include the link to the story on Dumpster Fire and what’s wrong. A person will review it.

What we do

• Factual errors in our headline or summary are corrected, and significant corrections are noted on the story.
• If a source retracts a story, we remove it or mark it as retracted.
• We don’t silently change the meaning of a story after people have discussed it.
